Dr. Jeff Pettey opens the joint AUPO-Academy symposium at AAO 2023 on "Green Ophthalmology: Our Sustainability Mandate" by providing an overview on climate change and how it affects health in general and the state of global ophthalmology specifically. He then introduces the Academy's Sustainability Taskforce, led by Dr. Flora Lum, and the work that the Taskforce has been doing over the past several months, including a cover story on sustainability in the November 2023 issue of EyeNet Magazine and the My Green Doctor initiative.
