FDA approves absorbable punctual plug

Paragon BioTeck, Inc. announced FDA approval of its Comfortear Lacrisolve Absorbable Punctum Plug for dry eye.

The medium-term implants are made of the synthetic absorbable polymer, polydioxanone, and are available in two diameters: 0.4 mm and 0.5 mm. Absorption time for the plugs is approximately six months. Paragon will start shipping them this month.
