Worsening of diabetic retinopathy during pregnancy in upper fundus photos (a., b.), despite her diabetes being controlled. After giving birth, the diabetic retinopathy decreased to mild non proliferative retinopathy as seen in the lower two fundus photographs (c., d.). The patient maintained a HgA1c less than 6.0% throughout her pregnancy.
