    In this interview from AGS 2021, Dr. David Friedman offers new insights into angle-closure glaucoma. Recent findings from the EAGLE trial revealed that in patients with high IOP, lens extraction led to better outcomes than laser treatment. Based on the findings from the ZAP trial, which found that prophylactic laser was modestly beneficial in preventing glaucoma, Dr. Friedman is much more comfortable not performing iridotomy unless the patient is young or has a very shallow angle.
