    Glaucoma

Characteristics of glaucomatous visual field damage include loss of vision in the nasal field (a nasal scotoma, or nasal step), loss of vision near the central field (a paracentral scotoma), or loss of vision in the midperiphery (arcuate scotomas). With undiagnosed and untreated glaucoma, these areas of lost vision can coalesce so that the patient loses all vision. This slide shows the field of view in an eye that has lost vision in the nasal field and midperiphery.
