    In this interview from AAO 2015, Yao Liu, MD, offers practical tips on identifying artifacts and anomalies that commonly occur on OCT scans of the retinal nerve fiber layer. One out of every 3 OCT scans has some form of an artifact or anomaly, which shows up red on the OCT scanner. It’s easy for a clinician to be simplistic in their evaluation. Red is bad and green is OK. But it’s not that simple, says Dr. Liu.
