Glaucoma
Dr. Kuldev Singh discusses the benefits of early cataract surgery in most patients with mild to moderate and, in some cases, advanced glaucomatous disease. Speaking with Dr. Shan C. Lin at the Glaucoma 360 Symposium, he lists his top reasons for managing glaucoma with cataract surgery. A recently completed analysis of the Ocular Hypertension Treatment Study (OHTS) arm showed cataract surgery resulted in a mean intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction of 4 mm Hg persisting for at least 3 years and improved vision in more than 90% of patients.
