Case Presentation: Which Test to Order

    By Carol Shields, MD
    Subspecialty Day 2012: Pediatric Ophthalmology
    Pediatric Ophth/Strabismus

An 11-month-old girl with retinoblastoma and total retinal detachment is referred. Ultrasound confirms a calcified mass. Dr. Carol Shields chooses an MRI for brain imaging, followed by fluorescein angiography. After intra-arterial chemotherapy the tumor regressed but the patient developed choroidal ischemia.
