    Inferior Rectus Recessions

    Pediatric Ophthalmology Subspecialty Day 2018
    03:57
    Pediatric Ophth/Strabismus

In cases of V-pattern esotropia or excyclotropia in downgaze, patients with bilateral superior oblique palsies might benefit from bilateral inferior rectus recession. Weakening both inferior rectus muscles will improve excyclotorsion (more in downgaze), address small hypertropias (with asymmetric recessions), and address the V-pattern ET that is typically seen in these patients.
