These abnormalities include anophthalmia, microphthalmia, optic-nerve coloboma, cyclopia, high myopia, persistent hyperplastic vitreous, cataract, and retinoblastoma. Limitations of ultrasonography include operator variability, fetal position, gestational age effects, and tissue  definition.
