    Lensectomy and 1-Piece IOL

    By Kenneth W. Wright, MD
Cataract/Anterior Segment, Congenital Cataract, Pediatric Ophth/Strabismus

In this case, a child presents with a congenital cataract that progressed over time. Dr. Ken Wright performs an anterior capsulectomy using a high cutting rate and low suction. Once the anterior capsule is open, the cortex is removed and an OVD is used to expand the capsular bag and the primary incision is enlarged to allow insertion of a 1-piece lens.
